J70 – kapsejlads og fællesskab – English
Racing and community
A modern and efficient racing concept in identical J70 boats — with a strong community, from young talents aged 15+ to seasoned veterans aged 70+.
A community for racing sailors
The J70 division is a modern and well-functioning racing concept built around identical, well-maintained boats. The concept ensures fair and efficient competition.
The community is a wonderfully diverse group: from young talents aged 15+ to seasoned veterans aged 70+. All with solid racing skills and a desire to compete — against well-matched opponents at every level.
We are affiliated with the national and international club-level sailing league, and a number of our teams compete in regattas and league events in addition to the weekly races off Aarhus Bay.
A maintenance crew and an annual work day with members keep the boats in great shape. Beyond your weekly racing evening, you can sail freely every weekend and on weekdays until 17:00.
⚠️ Sailing experience required: J70 sailing is primarily for sailors with experience from racing or other sailing. If you are completely new to the water, we recommend starting at the Sailing School — and then finding your way to the J70 fleet afterwards.
Membership
We welcome sailors of all levels — but you need sailing experience to join.
Come & Sail
On selected Fridays we hold introductory sails for new J70 sailors. People meet, and new teams form naturally.
Find a team on Facebook
Established teams are regularly looking for crew on our Facebook group. Post an introduction — you’ll quickly find a team to sail with.

Sailing & Training
Four racing levels on weekdays at 17:00, plus Come & Sail Fridays and senior sailing.
The boats are race-ready in five minutes. We typically sail for two hours on short courses just outside the harbour. Each boat carries a racing mark: the first boat out sets the top mark, the next two set the start line — and we’re off.
The level for the most experienced and competitive crews. High intensity and close competition for the top spots.
For experienced teams seeking strong competition and continued development on the course.
Teams with solid basic experience working their way up. A good mix of competition and development.
For new and less experienced teams. Focus on learning racing in a welcoming and supportive environment.
⚖️ Level placement: Placement is set once a year at Kampen om Dagen (Battle of the Day) — an internal selection race that matches all teams by level and racing skills.
On selected Fridays you can come by and try J70 sailing a few times for free — before deciding on membership.
For sailors 60+. Sailing on weekdays before 17:00 at a relaxed pace with a strong emphasis on fun and social time.

Communication & updates
We communicate primarily via Facebook and email. Here is an overview of where to find what.
Open to everyone. This is where social events happen, crew requests are posted, and it is the entry point to the J70 community.
Go to group →For all J70 members. Internal communication focused on boat maintenance and practical matters.
Go to group →A Messenger group has been set up for each racing level (Kap 1–4), where all coordination takes place — meeting times, crew, and practical planning.
Shared document archive with steering group meeting minutes and important documents for the division.
Open drive →Sponsors & support
The J70 division is grateful for the support of our sponsors.

Significant exposure around Aarhus Bay — on land and water year-round. Your company name in large format on both hull and sails.
An annual racing event for clients, employees or friends. You have five boats with four people each — plus an instructor.
Networking event with racing and dinner (own expense) together with the other sponsors. Each sponsor fields a 4-person team.
You support a local volunteer sailing community that puts 140 sailors on the water every week and creates a vibrant social scene at the marina year-round.
